Religions and mission in the Arab world
SEPTEMBER 2008: Vivienne Stacey

This issue of our magazine is fully focused on Ms Vivienne Stacey, a lifelong missionary in the Muslim World. You will find her major writings in this issue on our frontpage. If you click the button Vivienne Stacey you find many other articles by her hand; we will continue to upload new articles there, so keep coming back!

This week we received the news that our sister Shirley Madany has passed away; her husband, Rev. Bassam Madany, regularly contributes to our magazine. We wish him comfort of God in the certainty that his beloved wife is now with our Lord. Let us pray for Bassam.

We have also made dozens of articles by Bassam and Shirley Madany available in the past weeks. Under the button Madany's you find them.

Please let us know how we can improve St Francis Magazine so that it serves your needs in mission in the Arab World!

PRAYER REQUEST: update on Jordanian family forced to flee their country
Jordanian Christians Ramzi and Mona were forced to leave their country in March. They have now left the Arab world and applied for asylum in a European country.

Greetings in the name of Jesus, the Good Shepherd

On 28th March we requested prayer for Jordanian Christians Ramzi and Mona who had been forced to leave their country. Recall that Ramzi is a Believer from a Muslim Background (BMB) married to Mona, a Believer from a Christian Background (BCB) and they have two children. They fled from Jordan after Ramzi was beaten up and his he was charged before a court with apostasy (i.e. leaving Islam). The father sought custody of Ramzi’s two children.

Ramzi and Mona have now left the Arab world and applied for asylum in a European country. This is likely to take at least two years. Meanwhile they are endeavouring to settle into their adopted country, including finding accommodation and schooling for their two children, Joy (11) and Salam (9).

Jordanian Christians supporting this family request our prayers that:

a.       Ramzi, Mona and their children will know the Lord’s provision, protection and peace in their new location

b.      They will know the Holy Spirit’s healing physically and psychologically

c.       Their asylum application will be successful

d.      All BMBs in Jordan will know the inner peace of Jesus and live without fear

e.       The Jordanian legal system will be changed to prevent other BMBs being treated in this manner

f.        All officials involved will feel and respond to the love of Jesus
