Relation Church-Mission
Insider Movements
A very warm welcome to our new writers. It is a blessing to receive the fruits of your heart and mind. And a warm welcome to our new readers as well! We hope that our magazine serves you in your ministry. It is encouraging to know that each day, hundreds of our articles are downloaded and, we assume, read and used. This issue of St Francis Magazine 6:1 (February 2010) has two central themes. One is the relationship between Church and Mission. The second is Insider Movements, or C5. |

The first group of articles is related to the relationship between sending churches, missionaries, and receiving churches. How does ‘mission’ relate to ‘church’? The interface is often one of friction. These articles are all based on papers that were read during a conference in September 2009; Interserve, one of our publishers, brought 30 leaders in Church and Mission together for a few days of in-depth discussions. The opening article of this issue of SFM contains 17 recommendations that came out of this conference. You may find them thought provoking!
Then, we have a group of articles about the Insider Movement and matters related to it. Should Muslims stay in their ‘Islam’ or leave it to become part of Church? Is our God from eternity Father, Son and Holy Spirit? These and other topics are debated in this issue. To me it seems that biblical orthodoxy is at stake here. The articles on this topic are in response to what was written by others in our previous issues. Our next issue (April 2010) will be on media and mission in the Arab World.
The issue thereafter (June 2010) will be on our Christian belief in the Trinity and how this relates to our mission to Muslims. If you are interested to share your knowledge and experience in those fields with us, contact us! May God bless you and your work!

Watch www.biblicalmissiology.org, a website by Georges Houssney. Focus of this site is on showing that the Insider Movement / C5 is unacceptable intellectually, morally and biblically. |
