Religions and mission in the Arab world
FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK
Well friends!

That was an interesting year, 2011, was it not? And what we will see happen in 2012 in the Arab World? God only knows.
But we, who work in serving our Lord Jesus Christ in the Arab World are not troubled too much: we will not be moved. Did our Lord ever promise that serving him in mission would be easy?
The December issue of SFM contains a variety of articles than may help you in your ministry in the Muslim world; and if you are interested to share with the wider world what you have learned in ministering to Muslim, please feel free to submit your articles or ideas for articles to us

May our Lord Christ bless you in the new year.

PRAYER REQUEST: Update on BMB relocating due to discrimination

Posted on 16th February 2010

Greetings in the name of Jesus, Prince of Peace

In September we requested further prayer for a lady believer from a Muslim background (BMB) married to a believer from a Christian background (BCB) of a different Arab nationality. The wife relocated to Europe in March 2009 having fled to a third Arab country in late 2007 because of pressure from her family and the lack of official recognition of the couple’s marriage. The husband remains in his own country.

The wife’s asylum application appears to be progressing well. These processes usually take many months, and this one is following the usual pattern. Only recently did our sister receive a transcript of her interview, allowing her to verify the information. Several corrections have been submitted.

Of immediate concern is that she has been told by the authorities that she must relocate to a new region. In that new region she would be housed in a refugee camp, although she could apply for permission to stay in a private residence if a host family could be found. However, a recent psychological assessment recommended that she should not be moved at this time because it would be too traumatic following her numerous enforced moves of recent years. She is currently living with a Christian couple whom she trusts.

Christians supporting this couple request our continued prayers that:

a.      The wife’s asylum application is successful and completed promptly

b.      She will be granted permission to continue living in her current location

c.       If forced to move to another region, a Christian family would be identified to host her, and that permission would be granted for her to stay with them

d.      Those assisting them will know the Spirit’s guiding and enabling, and be able to help them effectively at this time

e.      Adequate spiritual, pastoral and financial support will be available for them both

f.        All officials involved will act justly and show mercy
